Support For Judge Barrett’s Nomination Has Increased Across Party Lines Ahead Of Her Confirmation Hearings Next Week As Democrats Grasp At Straws And Their Attacks Fall Flat

AMERICANS ARE INCREASINGLY SUPPORTIVE OF JUDGE AMY CONEY BARRETT’S NOMINATION TO THE SUPREME COURT

Morning Consult: “Democrats are losing the Supreme Court messaging war, new polling indicates, with support for Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation trending in the GOP’s direction.”

46% of voters Morning Consult/Politico poll said the Senate should confirm Barrett, up 9 percentage points since President Donald Trump announced her nomination.

The new poll shows opposition to Barrett from Democrats is softening, support for her confirmation rose by 10%, and support from Republicans and independents rising.

THROUGHOUT EACH STEP OF HER IMPRESSIVE LEGAL CAREER, JUDGE BARRETT HAS WON THE ADMIRATION AND RESPECT OF PEERS ACROSS THE IDEOLOGICAL SPECTRUM

Judge Barrett has been winning praise from her colleagues, students and the legal community “for decades.”

During her time clerking for Justice Antonin Scalia, Judge Barrett “stood out” even among the impressive group of three dozen Supreme Court clerks, earning the respect of even her liberal peers.

Harvard law professor Noah Feldman, a prominent liberal who has testified against President Trump, said that measuring by pure legal acumen Judge Barrett was “one of the two strongest lawyers.”

Six of Judge Barrett’s former law students wrote an Op-Ed in USA Today where they said ,“while we vary about how to best interpret statutes and the Constitution, we agree on this: The nation could not ask for a more qualified candidate.”

Judge Barrett was selected as "Distinguished Professor of the Year" by Notre Dame Law School’s graduating class three times.

Judge Barrett is just as well regarded by her colleagues at Norte Dame who “herald her as an almost perfect choice based on her judicial opinions, academic writings and personal life as the mother of seven children.”

Notre Dame Law Professor O. Carter Snead:  Judge Barrett “has an incandescent mind that has won the admiration of colleagues across the ideological spectrum.”

Notre Dame Law School Dean Marcus Cole called Judge Barrett “an absolutely brilliant legal scholar and jurist.”

Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins said that Judge Barrett “is a person of the utmost integrity who, as a jurist, acts first and foremost in accord with the law.”

Paolo Carozza, a Notre Dame law professor and director of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies, praised Judge Barrett as an “intelligent, thoughtful, open-minded person."

Notre Dame Law Professor Stephen Yelderman’s assessment of Judge Barrett was very clear, “She’s mind-blowingly intelligent, and she’s also one of the most humble people you’re going to meet. Judge Barrett is the complete package."

BARRETT’S ACCOLADES HAVE EARNED HER WIDESPREAD PRAISE, MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR DEMOCRATS TO OPPOSE HER NOMINATION ON THE BASIS OF QUALIFICATIONS

Even Democrat Senator Chris Coons, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was forced to admit that Barrett is qualified to serve as a Supreme Court Justice.

ABC News on Judge Barrett: “She’s very well regarded, well liked, I don’t think anyone’s going to be able to raise issues about her qualifications.”

Former dean of the Boston College Law School and president of the Catholic University of America, John Garvey: “I would be astonished if anyone were to oppose her nomination on the basis of character or intellect.”

Jonathan Adler, a professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, called Judge Barret “remarkable,” “in terms of intellectual caliber, she is as impressive as they come.”

CNN’s Abby Phillip: Judge Barrett “is widely viewed to be well qualified for this position.”

Ken Starr on Judge Barrett: “The President has chosen a superb nominee.”

George Stephanopoulos on Judge Barrett: “By all accounts she’s a brilliant lawyer.”

FACING GROWING SUPPORT FOR JUDGE BARRETT, KAMALA HARRIS IS TRYING TO USE THE CORONAVIRUS TO DELAY BARRETT’S HEARINGS

Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee that will hear Barrett’s testimony next week.

Harris called to delay committee hearings on Barrett’s nomination citing safety concerns amid the coronavirus crisis.

Curiously, Harris’ safety concerns appear to be a recent development, as she attended two Judiciary committee hearings in-person in June.

Harris chose not to wear a mask as she questioned witnesses at both of these hearings.
