Do They Support Abolishing ICE?

Michael Joyce - July 11, 2018

The Washington Post has reported that a group of House Democrats are preparing a bill that will disband ICE within a year. This news comes on the same day that a Politico/Morning Consult poll was released, showing that only 1 in 4 Americans support abolishing ICE.

These developments leave candidates like Joe Donnelly, Liz Watson, and Mel Hall, with quite the conundrum. They have what should be a clear choice between pandering and public safety. They can either satisfy the base and put the voters they’re running to represent at risk, or stand up for rule of law and our law enforcement by rejecting this dangerous proposal. Either way, Donnelly, Watson, and Hall owe voters in Indiana an answer.

Joe Donnelly, Liz Watson, and Mel Hall have already come out in favor of many out-of-touch issues this cycle, and supporting the abolish ICE movement would fit right in with their agendas. If they think they can get through November without giving voters an answer on where they stand on this critical public safety issue, they are absolutely wrong.”- RNC Spokesperson Michael Joyce
