Does Kara Eastman support abolishing ICE?

Patrick McCann - July 11, 2018

Today the Washington Post reported that a group of House Democrats are preparing a bill that will disband ICE within a year. This news comes on the same day that a Politico/Morning Consult poll was released, showing that only 1 in 4 Americans support abolishing ICE.

These developments leave candidates like Kara Eastman with quite the conundrum. She has what should be a clear choice between pandering and public safety. She can either satisfy the base and put her constituents at risk, or stand up for rule of law and our law enforcement by rejecting this dangerous proposal. Either way, Eastman owes 2nd District voters an answer.

“Kara Eastman has already come out in favor for many out-of-touch issues this cycle, and supporting the abolish ICE movement would fit right in with her agenda. If Eastman thinks she can get through November without giving voters an answer on where she stands on this critical public safety issue, she is absolutely wrong.”- RNC Spokesperson Patrick McCann
