FW: Red State Dems Feeling The Heat On Pompeo

Michael Joyce - April 20, 2018

Just wanted to make sure you saw the new ad running in Indiana urging Senator Donnelly to vote in favor of confirming Mike Pompeo for Secretary of State. While we wait for Donnelly to run out the clock and make a last second decision based on what he thinks will give him the best chance at winning reelection, will he choose to obstruct President Trump’s well-qualified pick for America’s top diplomat, or will he succumb to the pressure and confirm Mike Pompeo?

You can view the ad HERE.

Subject: Red State Dems Feeling The Heat On Pompeo

Good morning,

As first reported by Politico Playbook, a "high six-figure" campaign of ads launched today pressuring red-state Democrats to confirm Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State. Ads in Indiana and West Virginia begin today to remind these Dems they are in danger of needlessly voting against an extremely qualified, highly respected nominee out of cold partisanship.

Meanwhile, editorials hammering Democrats for the senseless obstruction continue to roll in….

The media has taken note that red-state Dems are in danger of making a big mistake in going against their constituents by voting against the highly qualified Pompeo. As William G. Boykin put it in Real Clear Defense: "Mike Pompeo has the leadership, experience, instincts, and training to be successful as the next Secretary of State. In fact, he is the most prepared and capable nominee for Secretary of State since Colin Powell."

The media has caught on that Pompeo is a winning choice. Democrats should heed the advice or expect a passionate pushback from Americans.
