Joe Biden’s Interior Secretary nominee Rep. Deb Haaland’s hearing was an unmitigated disaster.
What did we find out? Haaland supports a job-killing, Green New Deal-style agenda without actually knowing what the impacts of her radical proposals would be.

“I haven’t actually looked at all of these statistics,” – WHAT!?!
Senators pressed her on key issues any Interior Secretary should know about, and she repeatedly dodged, hedged, and admitted to not having reviewed the science.
- On the Keystone XL pipeline: Haaland confessed that she has not reviewed the economic and environmental impact study showing that building the pipeline would create jobs AND reduce emissions.
- On the Dakota Access pipeline: Haaland refused to take a position.
- On plugging deficits in school funding caused by banning fossil fuels: Haaland dodged, and was once again unable to answer the question.
One month into office, Biden’s policies have already killed U.S. energy jobs. By nominating Haaland, Biden is embracing far-left special interest groups who do not care what jobs they destroy, do not know the true impacts of their policies, and have no answers on when they can get Americans back to work.
