The Democrats’ H.R. 1 power grab is not “for the people,” it is “for the politicians.”
Far from strengthening our democracy, H.R. 1 would undermine it. The Democrats’ power grab would:
- Federalize our nation’s elections.
- Force ballot harvesting on states.
- Eviscerate commonsense state voter ID laws.
- Establish a partisan FEC and a Speech Czar with increased regulatory control over speech.
- Force the adoption of automatic voter registration on short notice, even though past attempts have led to massive registration errors.
- Send taxpayer money to politicians’ campaigns.
American voters should be very concerned with what Democrats would do with increased control over our speech and elections.
When Democrats have gone to such lengths to abuse their authority and to lie about election reforms, why should voters trust them and their H.R. 1 power grab over our elections? The answer: they shouldn’t.
