RNC Chairwoman: McCaskill is More Loyal to Schumer Than to The People Who Elected Her
MARC COX: Let’s talk about the midterm states. I know that the Brett Kavanaugh nomination has gotten a lot of attention. It’s gotten a lot of attention here in Missouri, just because of course Claire McCaskill is going to face a decision on this. My guess is she votes the way Chuck Schumer wants her to. But I think it will have an impact on her race.
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: Yeah, I mean, Claire is really good at saying one thing when she’s in Missouri and then following her D.C. bosses when she’s in the Capitol. She’s not worked with this President on any issues. She voted against the tax cuts, she voted against Neil Gorsuch. I think she’s going to get a lot of pressure. The RNC is going to put a lot of pressure on her on this Kavanaugh vote. You know, she’s running an ad in Missouri saying “Missouri born and raised.” Let me just tell you, Claire McCaskill is D.C. through and through and Josh Hawley is just a better candidate to represent Missouri in Washington.
MARC COX: Yeah, what are the other states that the GOP is targeting right now when it comes to these midterms?
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: Well, of course, President Trump won Missouri by 18 points. But we’ll be in the 10 states with Democratic incumbents where President Trump won: North Dakota, West Virginia, Montana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and obviously, Missouri is going to be one of those states, Indiana. And we’re going to put a lot of pressure on these Democrats because they go home to their constituents, the people who voted them in and they say, “I’m going to go to Washington, I’m going to be bipartisan. I’m going to work with President Trump.” I can’t think of a better time to work with this President then on a jurist like Brett Kavanaugh, who has a history of being a mainstream judge. He has an extensive background, he clerked for Justice Kennedy. He served on the second highest court in the land. There is no reason why anybody should be opposing him. I don’t have much hope for Claire McCaskill because she opposed Neil Gorsuch who had the highest ratings from the ABA, and certainly was qualified to be on the Supreme Court. It shows where Claire’s loyalties are. She is more loyal to Chuck Schumer and her Party than to the people who elected her.
