President Trump highlighted the purpose of his latest trip to the Hawkeye state by noting that “the Republican Party is the party of the American family, the American worker, the American farmer, and the American dream.”
The president began his trip by reminding Iowans that he continues to be a friend to Iowa farmers. While touring Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy in Council Bluffs, President Trump talked about his executive order to streamline the regulatory process for agricultural biotechnology for farmers so they can invest in innovative crops.
However, his visit put the spotlight on the announcement of year-round E15 sales – which would put more dollars in the pockets of Iowa farmers and American drivers.
Later that evening at the Iowa GOP dinner in West Des Moines, President Trump emphasized his promise to protect Iowa families by bringing Iowa angel mom, Michelle Root up on stage whose daughter, Sarah, was killed by a drunk driver who was in the country illegally. President Trump argued that stories like the Roots’ were the reason for a safe and secure border.
President Trump used the dinner to tout the roaring economy and his commitment to the Iowa worker. Not only has Iowa seen its lowest unemployment rate ever under the president’s leadership, but the state has seen more than 20,000 jobs added since 2017.
Bottom line: While Democrats continue to play political games in Congress and on the campaign trail, President Trump continues to remain true to his promises to the heartland by fighting for farmers, workers, families, and the American dream they all strive to achieve.
