In what world is this appropriate?

Keelie Broom - May 14, 2018

In case you missed it, Nevada Democrats stooped to a new low last week when they attacked Republican initiatives to provide new resources for sexual assault victims.

As part of Attorney General Adam Laxalt’s ongoing push to reduce the backlog of untested rape kits in Nevada, Laxalt recently unveiled a new website that will serve as a resource for sexual assault victims.  In a tasteless and wholly unsupported response, Nevada Democrats accused Laxalt of using the website to distract from the bevy of other baseless criticisms they’ve levied against him and called the launching of the website “a desperate attempt at damage control.”

If Nevada Democrats honestly think it’s appropriate to attack Republican efforts to empower sexual assault victims, it’s clear that there is no line they won’t cross and no good deed they won’t criticize.

As you continue to cover the Nevada gubernatorial election, please consider the following quote from me:

“The Nevada Democrats’ disturbing response to the launching of a new resource for sexual assault victims is beyond the pale. If Democrats are willing to politicize Republican efforts to resolve sexual assault cases, they’ve devolved to a new low that should terrify voters.”
