On January 16, 2015, Susie Hudson was elected Secretary of the Republican National Committee and was re-elected Secretary in January 2017. She served as the National Committeewoman for Vermont from August 2008 to August 2017. During her time with the RNC, she has served on the RNC Technology, Budget, and Executive Committees and as the Recorder for the Rules Committee. She was also a former RNC staff member in the positions of Mid-West Legislative Political Director and Mid-West Regional Field Coordinator. Susie has attended every Republican National Convention since 1992 and served as the Secretary of the Convention in 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Susie served in the administrations of President George W. Bush at the U.S. Department of Justice under Attorney General John Ashcroft and Vermont Governor Jim Douglas as the Executive Director of the Vermont Commission on National and Community Service. She was also the Campaign Chair for Vermont Lt. Governor Brian Dubie for two of his re-election campaigns.
In addition to serving as Vermont National Committeewoman for nine years, Susie served in many capacities in the Vermont Republican Party, including as County Chair, State Party Secretary, Executive Director, Victory Chair, State College Republican Chair, and National Committeewoman to the Young Republican National Federation. She was also a Justice of the Peace and a Trustee of Public Funds for her hometown of East Montpelier and a member of the St. Johnsbury Rotary Club.
Susie graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education. During her free time, you can find her on the golf course.
