On January 16, 2015, Susie Hudson, Republican National Committeewoman for Vermont, was elected Secretary of the Republican National Committee. She was first elected as National Committeewoman in May of 2008 and has served on the RNC Technology, Budget, and Executive Committees and as the Recorder for the Rules Committee. She was also a former RNC staff member in the positions of Mid-West Legislative Political Director and Mid-West Regional Field Coordinator. She has attended every Republican National Convention since 1992.
Susie served in the administrations of President George W. Bush at the U.S. Department of Justice under Attorney General John Ashcroft and Vermont Governor Jim Douglas as the Executive Director of the Vermont Commission on National and Community Service. She was also the Campaign Chair for Vermont Lt. Governor Brian Dubie for two of his re-election campaigns.
Currently, Susie is a member of the Vermont Commission on Women, the St. Johnsbury Rotary Club, and is a member of the Vermont Republican Party Executive Committee. Previously, she served in many capacities in the Republican Party, including as County Chair, State Party Secretary, Executive Director, Victory Chair, State College Republican Chair, and National Committeewoman to the Young Republican National Federation. She was also a Justice of the Peace and a Trustee of Public Funds for the Town of East Montpelier.
