Monica is Republican Because

Monica is a native New Mexican, raised in Albuquerque’s South Valley, and graduated from Rio Grande High School as Monica Lopez.
In 2005, as a full-time, working single mom, Monica left the corporate world, took a huge risk and started her own small business. Today she is recognized as a top-producing realtor in the Albuquerque metro area.
Monica and her husband Chris Youngblood together they have 2 children, Corey 21 and Mariana 19. Monica strongly believes that New Mexico should be a place where our children can receive a quality education regardless of their financial circumstances. She also believes it should be a place where businesses can thrive, compete, and grow. In 2009, Monica completed the Leadership New Mexico Connect Program, “The Next Generation of Leadership.” Monica also served on the Associate Leadership Committee for several years, while affiliated with Keller Williams Realty.
Monica has worked tirelessly to give back to the community that has given so much to her. Most recently, Monica served organizations such as Junior Achievement of New Mexico, where she taught financial wellness and workplace readiness, she has also coached youth soccer for and coached youth cheer leading. Monica chaired the 1st Annual Golf Tournament to benefit The International School @ Mesa del Sol, and support various non-profits across the state. Monica & Chris are also Road Runner Food Bank Full Plate Society Members.
While serving her first term as State Representative, Monica was appointed to the House Labor & Human Resources Committee, House Voters & Elections Committee and in her second term she is the Vice-Chair of House Education and sits on House Appropriations & Finance Committees. Nationally, Monica was named as GOPAC’s 2013 Emerging Leader’s, and will serve as Co-Chair for 2014 Emerging Leader’s. In addition, Monica was named to the Future Majority Project Advisory Board Co-Chaired by our very own Governor Susana Martinez. In 2014, Monica was named Rising Star by the Republican National Committee and by MSNBC’s Chuck Todd Show. She was also recognized by Washington Post Political 40 Under 40 Politicians to watch outside the D.C. area.
