President Trump leading on Coronavirus, Dems continue to play politics

Steve Guest - February 29, 2020

It’s been another disgraceful week for Democrats and the media as they use the Coronavirus to try to score political points against President Trump.

Last night, in response to President Trump reminding America that his administration “has taken the most aggressive action in modern history to prevent the spread of this illness in the United States,” Democrats and media outlets like Politico instead rushed to play politics and take President Trump out of context.

The hoax President Trump was referring to is the notion spread by the Democrats and the media that President Trump has handled the Coronavirus response poorly. President Trump did not call the Coronavirus a hoax.

NOTE: Last night, President Trump said, “We have to take [Coronavirus] very, very seriously and that is what we are doing. We are preparing for the worst.”

President Trump is clearly taking Coronavirus seriously. It is a boldfaced lie to say President Trump called Coronavirus a hoax.

And this morning, The Washington Post published another example of the mainstream media cheering for Coronavirus in an attempt to make President Trump look bad.

REMINDER (because Democrats and the media clearly need it): President Trump is leading an aggressive response and preparation effort for Coronavirus.

  • A month ago, President Trump formed a Coronavirus Task Force to coordinate his administration’s response.
  • President Trump took the unprecedented steps to expand screenings and suspend entry of certain foreign nationals who pose a risk of transmitting the Coronavirus.
    • FLASHBACK: Democrats attacked President Trump last month in response to the China travel restrictions.
  • President Trump declared a public health emergency and allocated billions of dollars in response to Coronavirus.

Bottom Line: While President Trump is delivering a real plan to combat the spread of Coronavirus and the CDC is prepared, it has become evident Democrats are rooting to see Coronavirus hurt President Trump and his administration.
