Question for Malinowski: Do you support Pelosi's hypocrisy In IA-02?

Michael Joyce - March 25, 2021

Hypocrisy, thy name is Nancy Pelosi.

A bipartisan group has certified that the voters in Iowa’s Second District elected Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks to the House. Pelosi should stand by her word in 2017 and stop Democrat efforts to expel Miller-Meeks from her seat.

How it started:

How it’s going:

Even members of her own caucus are beginning to call out Pelosi’s hypocrisy.  According to Politico : “roughly a half-dozen Democrats have privately expressed reservations about the House taking up Hart’s challenge,” with several Democrat members going on the record.

  • Rep. Susan Wild (D-Pa.): “Legislators should be heeding states' certifications of their elections. Unless there is rampant error and substantial evidence thereof, I do not believe it is the role of House members to dictate the outcome of elections.”
  • Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.): “I have deep reservations.”
  • Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.): “This is an issue that states should have primary responsibility in determining the outcome of the election. The state of Iowa certified it, and that’s what should stand.”
  • Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.): “Losing a House election by six votes is painful for Democrats. But overturning it in the House would be even more painful for America. Just because a majority can, does not mean a majority should.”

The latest effort of House Democrat leadership shows the true hypocrisy of Pelosi and her Democrat colleagues. It’s no surprise these are the same Democrats who want to pass HR 1 – a bill that amounts to a federal takeover of state elections.

It turns out that when Pelosi says “for the people,” she really means “for the Democrats.” Quick question for Tom Malinowski: Do you agree with Pelosi meddling in overturning election results after the people of Iowa spoke? Why have you been silent on this issue? New Jerseyans deserve to know.
