Yesterday, Rhode Island’s Reckless Governor Gina Raimondo kicked off her re-election campaign with a video that skipped right over what her tenure has really been like in Providence. In true Raimondo fashion, at the same time as her rose-colored-glasses launch, her administration was accused of purposefully withholding information on the UHIP scandal.
Here are the highlights a video re-launching Reckless Raimondo’s campaign should have included:
- Rhode Island having the worst infrastructure in the country.
- Tanking the economy, with Rhode Island ranking 45th out of 50 states for business.
- Racking up administration scandals with glaring government dysfunction of major programs including Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, and the state’s eligibility system UHIP.
No wonder Gina has the worst approval rating for any Democrat governor running for reelection AND has divided her party so much that she drew a primary challenger who’s already racking up key endorsements to her left.
As you cover Gina Raimondo’s campaign ramping up, please consider the following:
“Reckless Gina Raimondo’s campaign launch was tainted by the same theme that has followed around her entire tenure in Providence: dysfunction. Rhode Islanders are desperate for real leadership, and Republicans are ready to lead with a new, pro-business, pro-growth vision that will put the state back on track.” –RNC Spokesperson Nicole Tardif
