Resistance, or results?

Garren Shipley - June 13, 2018

Democrat Gerry Connolly couldn’t have made it any more clear when he was speaking at Jennifer Wexton’s victory party: “The Resistance has to be represented in the United States Congress."

While Democrats were crowing about how they’d dig in their heels and resist to the bitter end, Barbara Comstock was busy working with the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to pass legislation designed to help put an end to the nation’s opioid crisis.

"The bills that have passed include measures that would provide resources to help hospitals discharge patients after an overdose by giving them naloxone, as well as connecting them with peer support specialists and treatment centers. Other bills gave the Food and Drug Administration more authority to stop illegal drugs shipped through the mail and gave the CDC the authority to work with states on tracking diseases that are spread through the sharing of infected needles. Another bill requires the surgeon general to issue a report on teens who use synthetic drugs, which are made from chemicals."

"Jennifer Wexton is all about resistance. Barbara Comstock is about results. Voters have a choice this November — a partisan fighter, or someone who puts the 10th District first. We’re pretty sure which one the voters of the 10th District will choose in November.”  — Garren Shipley, RNC spokesman
