WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following Easter message:
“This morning, Christians wake to the joy of the Resurrection,” said Chairman Priebus. “We gather with family and in church to celebrate Christ’s triumph over death--and the love God has shown toward humankind.
“I wish everyone a Happy Easter. May it be a blessed one, surrounded by loved ones. Just as the joy of Easter overcomes the darkness of Good Friday, may the hope of eternal life overshadow the fears of this world.”
“Today we hear anew those words spoken to the women at the tomb: ‘He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.’ They are simple words that forever changed the world,” said Co-Chair Day.
“As we sing of the risen Lord, let’s also remember the example Christ set for us while on earth: love for our neighbor, kindness to the marginalized, and a spirit of humility and charity.
