WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following Christmas message:
"As families gather to celebrate the birth of our Lord, I wish everyone a blessed Christmas," said Chairman Priebus.
"After a long year, we welcome the chance to set aside our worries and hear anew the message of Christmas. It's my prayer that the Christ Child brings peace to our hurried lives and our often turbulent world. And in the words of that joyous hymn, 'Let every heart prepare Him room.'
"This holiday season we also remember the brave men and women of our armed services who are overseas or away from loved ones. Their families at home miss them terribly, and we're thinking of them--and all they sacrifice for us."
"This is the time of year we celebrate the 'good news of great joy' told to the shepherds from on high," said Co-Chairman Day. "The story of Christmas and God's gift to humankind inspires us to give of ourselves this season--to those whom we love and to those who are in need.
"May love surround us all this holiday, and may the blessings of the season remain with us long into the New Year. Merry Christmas!"
