WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following Passover message:
“As the sun sets across the world tonight, members of the Jewish faith will come together with friends and family at the first Seder of Passover, a holiday commemorating the deliverance of the people of Israel from their persecutors in Egypt,” said Chairman Priebus.
“During this season of freedom, we celebrate together with our Jewish friends, while remaining vigilant to the cause of liberty around the world. At this time of year we also send a special prayer to our ally Israel, a beacon of democracy in the Middle East.”
“Chag Sameach to our friends in the Jewish community from everyone at the RNC,” said Co-Chair Day. “We can all take inspiration from the story of this important festival, which reminds us of the eternal struggle for freedom. Let it also serve as a reminder to persist in our dedication to fighting oppression wherever it exists. With hope and perseverance, we work towards a day when the world is free of tyranny.”
