WASHINGTON — Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following message on Independence Day:
“I want to wish everyone a very happy Fourth of July,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “As we celebrate the day of our country’s birth with fireworks, barbeques, and parades, let us remember the true reason why we are celebrating: on this day in 1776, a group of patriots declared America a new and free nation. Today we also remember all of those in the armed forces who have for generations fought to defend our liberties, and who are still today making sacrifices of home and family to maintain our freedoms.”

Today we celebrate our nation’s independence and the countless freedoms we enjoy as a result of the Founders’ courage and vision,” said RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day. “The Republican Party is dedicated to continuing what they began 240 years ago: the fight to make life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness available to all, and to keep America the world’s greatest bastion of freedom. We wish you a happy Independence Day, and hope you enjoy a day of companionship with family and friends as we celebrate the red, white and blue.”
