WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee released the following message at the beginning of Ramadan:
“We send our best wishes to all those who are celebrating the Muslim holy month of Ramadan,” said Chairman Reince Priebus. “As the crescent moon inaugurates this month of fasting from sunrise to sundown, we hope Muslim families across the country the will enjoy a time of spiritual reflection and blessings.”
“Ramadan is also a time when Muslims are called to be mindful of the poor. We hope that the celebration of Ramadan will encourage Americans of all faith backgrounds to show charity and kindness to those who are less fortunate.”
“It is our hope that Muslim communities in our country celebrating Ramadan would enjoy the company and encouragement of their family and friends as they grow in their faith,” said Co-Chair Sharon Day. “We are grateful for the many contributions of Muslim-Americans to our nation, and we wish all those who are celebrating a blessed month.”
