RNC Response To Clinton's Visit To Colorado

RNC Communications - June 2, 2014

With Hillary Clinton out in Denver wanted to remind you that there were a flood of discounted tickets available for today’s event, because we all know she won’t say anything or do anything that could remotely come back to haunt her.  For example, she never criticized President Obama for how he’s handling his mess at the VA and has remained silent about his latest job-killing regulation against the coal industry that will kill jobs and force energy rates to increase.

If you’re reporting on Clinton’s event today, below is a statement from the Republican National Committee (RNC):

“With the black market flooded with discounted tickets for today’s event, it’s clear Coloradans aren’t quite ready for Hillary Clinton.  Given her inability to criticize President Obama regarding his Veterans Affairs’ scandal or come out against his EPA regulation – that will kill 224,000 jobs and force energy rates to skyrocket – who can blame them for skipping another Hillary speech that’s lacking substance.”  Jahan Wilcox, RNC Spokesman

Despite The Hype, Coloradans Are Proving They Too Aren’t Ready For Hillary

Reuters’ Headline Says Ticket Sales Brisk For Hillary Clinton's Speaking Tour.  For $9,600, fans of former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton can rent a luxury suite for her scheduled June speech near Denver, part of a package that includes seats for 26 guests and five VIP parking passes.  The original prices for tickets to Clinton's speech at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado ranged from around $50 to $200, but ticket companies scooped up many of the arena's 6,500 seats and now the secondary market for Clinton tickets is booming.  The Colorado speech on June 2 is one of two Clinton appearances being marketed by Unique Lives & Experiences. … Ticket sales are brisk for the events on secondary market websites run by Event Tickets Center, VividSeats and StubHub, where seats in the upper sections of large civic auditoriums are resold at around $100 and suites are going for thousands of dollars.  (Gabriel DeBenedetti and Marilyn Thompson, “Ticket Sales Brisk For Hillary Clinton's Speaking Tour,” Reuters, 03/03/14)

Living Social Offered Tickets To Hillary Clinton’s Colorado Speech For A Third Of The Price.  “Hillary Clinton will be speaking at the 1STBANK Center next week in Broomfield, Colorado. But it appears event organizers are having a hard time selling out: tickets to the event have been put on sale, and are now selling for 66 percent cheaper than the original sale price.  The sale is being offered through Living Social, which titles the event, ‘Ticket to Keynote Speaker: Hillary Rodham Clinton.’”  (Daniel Halper, Tickets To Hillary Speech On Sale, 66% Off, The Weekly Standard, 05/29/14)
