WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee is highlighting the increasing costs of Fourth of July celebrations since President Obama took office in a new graphic, "A More Expensive Fourth."
“Celebrating our nation’s freedom doesn’t come cheap under President Obama,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Compared to when he first took office, it will cost Americans about 20 percent more to grill hamburgers, 9 percent more to eat their favorite apple pie, and a monstrous 89 percent more to make the drive to visit loved ones. The Fourth of July always means freedom, family and fireworks, but it now also means rising food costs and financial concerns.”
