WASHINGTON — Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement celebrating February as Black History Month:
"This February, we honor the generations of African Americans who have shaped America into the diverse nation it is today," said Chairwoman McDaniel. "As we recognize the 400th anniversary of the first enslaved Africans’ arrival to the colonies, we acknowledge the wrongs of our past and celebrate the trailblazers who triumphed over injustice throughout our nation’s history. We are indebted to these courageous Americans whose legacy of perseverance and patriotism define our commitment to opportunity for all."
