WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following statement celebrating Thanksgiving:
“Today, Americans all across the country are gathered with loved ones, enjoying good food and reflecting on their blessings. As we celebrate this holiday, I want to wish all Americans a Happy Thanksgiving,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
“Just as the Pilgrims did on the first Thanksgiving, we give thanks to God and ask for his continued blessings. We’re grateful for the country we live in and for the blessings of liberty. We’re thankful for the love of family and friends.”
“Even as we celebrate, we can’t forget those who are in need this Thanksgiving,” said RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day. “There are many Americans struggling to keep food on the table and support their families. We need to keep them in our prayers and remember always to lend a helping hand.
“We pray, too, for those spending Thanksgiving apart from their families—especially our men and women of the armed forces serving overseas.
“May God bless all our families and our country this Thanksgiving Day and every day.”
