RNC Statement Commemorating Hanukkah

- November 27, 2013

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following statement commemorating Hanukkah:

“As Jewish families gather this evening for the beginning of Hanukkah, I want to wish everyone marking the Festival of Lights, in America and around the world, a joyful celebration,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

“I pray that this is a blessed holiday and that those celebrating are surrounded by loved ones during the eight nights.”

“For more than two millennia, the inspirational story of the Maccabees has been a call to faith and perseverance,” said RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day. “It’s a story that resonates across time and religious traditions. May that light of hope burn brightly in all our hearts this Hanukkah.”
