RNC Statement Commemorating Hanukkah

- December 8, 2012

WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following statement commemorating Hanukkah:

"As Jewish families gather this evening to mark the beginning of Hanukkah, I wish them the happiest of holidays," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "For all those celebrating the Festival of Lights, in America and around the world, I hope your eight nights are brightened by the presence of family and loved ones. I pray this Hanukkah is a time of blessings and peace."

"Happy Hanukkah to you and yours," said RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day. "Hanukkah reminds us of the enduring importance of perseverance and hope, and the story of the Maccabees offers inspiration for Americans of all backgrounds and faiths. May the miracles of long ago warm our hearts even today."
