WASHINGTON - Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus announced the RNC raised $18.02 million in the first quarter of 2013, including $6.325 million in March. The RNC has $8.67 million cash on hand and remains completely debt-free.
“These numbers show there’s great enthusiasm among Republicans to grow our ranks, welcome new voters, and build our party,” said Chairman Priebus. “In the first quarter of 2013, the RNC had 20 percent more first time donors than in the first quarter of 2011--and 43 percent more than in 2009. All told the RNC received support from over 250,000 donors in the first quarter of this year.
“The RNC has already begun building an unprecedented community-based field operation to lay the foundation for victories in 2013, 2014, 2016 and beyond. As we work to implement recommendations from the Growth and Opportunity Project and chart a new path forward, we’re grateful that so many Republicans--grassroots supporters and major donors alike--are excited about making critical investments in technology, minority engagement, and the other areas necessary to grow and win.”
