WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus announced the RNC raised $7.3 million in May 2013, bringing the committee’s cash on hand total to $10.8 million. The committee continues to implement recommendations from the Growth and Opportunity Project, including the hiring of the RNC’s first Chief Technology Officer. The strong support from donors at all levels has empowered the RNC’s ongoing work of building an unprecedented off-year field operation. The RNC had 19 percent more first time donors through May 2013 than in the same period in 2011.
"Our party recognizes the need to connect with all voters and build relationships with all communities, and that’s why we’re investing in a new bottom-up engagement strategy,” said Chairman Priebus. “We’re grateful for the support of grassroots supporters and major donors alike. It’s my commitment to spend every dollar wisely toward the goal of growing this party and earning voters’ trust. We’re doing things that have never been done before, and there’s enthusiasm across the country for charting a path to victory in 2013, 2014, 2016, and beyond.”
