WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement ahead of the beginning of Rosh Hashanah:
“L’shana tovah to all of our Jewish friends celebrating the start of a new year here in America and around the world,” said Chairman Priebus. “As the books of account are opened on this holiday, we can all take the time to reflect on our actions this year and strive to be better to our friends, family, and fellow citizens in the future.
“As always on days of Jewish celebration, we are reminded of our allies in Israel. We hope that in this new year on the Jewish calendar our relationship will only grow stronger.”
“May 5776 bring further success and greater happiness to our friends in the Jewish community,” said Co-Chair Day. “I hope that the taste of apples and honey carries them into a new year full of sweetness and celebration with their families and congregations.”
