WASHINGTON - RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement ahead of the beginning of Rosh Hashanah: “At sundown today, Jewish families across the country and around the world mark the start of Rosh Hashanah, and we wish them a happy and blessed New Year,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “During this time of reflection and renewal, joy and peace, those of the Jewish faith will celebrate the rich and ancient traditions with family and friends. Americans of all faiths can join in praying for a brighter, better year ahead. “We are particularly mindful of those celebrating Rosh Hashanah in Israel during this time of ongoing conflict, and we will continue to stand with our ally in the year ahead.” “Good wishes to everyone marking Rosh Hashanah,” said RNC Co-Chairman Sharon Day. “On this holiday, we’re reminded of the importance of family and faith, and we pray for peace at home and abroad. We wish those of the Jewish faith a happy and healthy New Year. As always, may the sounds of the shofar and the taste of apples and honey bring a sweet and happy New Year. L’shanah tovah!” ### |
