RNC Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on today’s jobs report:
WASHINGTON – “While we’re glad to see some Americans finally finding work, we can’t lose sight of the fact that we should have been at this point years ago. Slow job growth may be good enough for Democrats, but Republicans know we can do better,” said Chairman Priebus.
“Yesterday, in a speech outlining Republican Principles for American Renewal, I spoke about Americans’ number one priority: jobs. President Obama’s tax-and-spend policies prevent us from reaching our potential for robust job creation. America can and will do better—once we’re free of Democrats’ job-killing regulations and intrusive rules.
“Obama’s over-taxing and over-regulating create jobs for the wrong people: lobbyists and bureaucrats in DC. As money pours into D.C., they take jobs away from the people that need them: middle class moms and dads, young people just out of high school or college, and minority communities where unemployment is above average.
“The Republican-led House of Representatives has passed over 40 jobs bills that Democrats refuse to vote on in the Senate, including legislation to build the Keystone Pipeline. This November, Americans have the chance to send a Republican majority to the Senate. When they do, we can send pro-growth jobs bills to the president’s desk—and we can create jobs for the millions of Americans who still desperately need them.”
