RNC Statement on the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Assassination

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following message on the 50th anniversary of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Assassination:
 
"Today, we remember the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. on the anniversary of his death," said Chairwoman McDaniel. "Dr. King’s life was taken by a senseless act of violence, but his bold pursuit of justice lives on in the generations of leaders inspired by his memory. The Republican Party commemorates the timeless legacy of one of our nation’s greatest civil rights leaders, who shaped the future of our country through his message of equality and peace."
 
"We join the rest of the nation in praying for Dr. King’s family and pledging to carry on the fight for a better country for all Americans."
