WASHINGTON – RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following message marking Yom Kippur:
“At sundown, those of the Jewish faith will mark the beginning of Yom Kippur, and we wish them an easy fast,” said Chairman Priebus. “Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, is a time of reflection, prayer, and atonement. As Jewish families around the world commemorate this day, Americans of all backgrounds can take a moment to remember the importance of faith in our lives.”
“On Yom Kippur, we join with our Jewish friends and all those of the Jewish faith--in America, in Israel, and around the world—in praying for a peaceful year ahead,” said Co-Chairman Day. “We take this opportunity to be thankful for our blessings and to recognize the need for compassion in our world. Have an easy fast and a blessed day.”
