Senator Lindsey Graham unleashed on Congressman Jared Polis today on Twitter after Polis suggested in an interview last week that the Colorado National Guard is not "U.S. military" and does not deploy overseas:
Kyle Clark: "Sure, but this idea that I won’t give the President access to our National Guard troops if I think it’s political. You could use the same rationale to not allow someone fight in Afghanistan or Iraq, is that dangerous?"Jared Polis: "Well, it wouldn’t be Colorado National Guard units going to Afghanistan or Iraq, it would be, you know, U.S. Military."
Sen. Graham's reaction:
If there is an award for being “Out of Touch” in the 2018 election cycle, I would nominate Jared @PolisForCO, the Democratic candidate for Governor of Colorado. (1/4)

It is mind-boggling that any candidate for Governor – of any state – would believe that defending America abroad is NOT part of National Guard’s job.

I can assure Mr. Polis that National Guard troops from Colorado have served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Members of the National Guards and their families fully understand part of their duties is to protect America – not just at home – but abroad too. (4/4)

Walker Stapleton's running mate former Air National Guard Lt. Colonel and TOPGUN instructor Lang Sias also blasted Polis for displaying complete ignorance on the subject.
