Democrats Are More Interested In Partisan Attacks And Fear Mongering Than Their Constitutional Duty To Review Judge Barrett’s Impressive Record And Exemplary Qualifications

INSTEAD OF REVIEWING JUDGE BARRETT’S NOMINATION, DEMOCRATS ARE FALSELY TRYING TO PAINT HER CONFIRMATION HEARING AS ILLEGITIMATE AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL

In the first day of hearings, Democrats barely acknowledged Barrett and instead attacked the entire confirmation process as illegitimate, focusing more on criticism of President Trump for making a nomination rather than Barrett herself.

Politico: In their opening remarks, Democrats focused more of their criticism on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Trump. They paid little attention to Barrett’s qualifications or her record.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper called out Democrat Presidential Nominee Joe Biden for calling Barrett’s nomination unconstitutional saying “constitutional doesn’t mean ‘I like it’ or ‘I don’t it’ it means it’s according to the U.S. Constitution, there’s nothing unconstitutional about what the U.S. Senate is doing.”

Newsweek: “Biden is mistaken when he calls the process ‘not constitutional.’”

DEMOCRATS KNOW THAT THEIR ARGUMENT AGAINST JUDGE BARRETT’S NOMINATION IS FLIMSY, SO THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO PUSH POLL-TESTED AND FALSE RHETORIC FOCUSED ON OBAMACARE RATHER THAN ON BARRETT’S QUALIFICATIONS

Former Senior Aide to Hillary Clinton, Zac Petkanas, wrote an op-ed urging Democrats to exercise “strict message discipline” focused on a potential repeal of Obamacare because polling “consistently show that health care and the coronavirus top the lists of voters' most important issues.”

Democrats followed this advice, they “zeroed in on the implications for the Affordable Care Act if Barrett is confirmed” rather than the nominee herself.

The New York Times: “For Judiciary Committee Democrats, the Affordable Care Act is center stage.”

In reality, Democrats rhetoric is just a political attack based on a hypothetical ruling, Judge Barrett has never ruled on any case related to Obamacare and does not approach any case with a premeditated opinion.

Democrats know that it would be inappropriate for Judge Barrett to comment would be inappropriate as the Code of Conduct for United States Judges says that “a judge should not make public comment on the merits of a matter pending or impending in any court.”

THE REASON DEMOCRATS DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT BARRETT IS BECAUSE HER QUALIFICATIONS ARE SUPERB AND UNASSAILABLE

The American Bar Association rated Judge Amy Coney Barrett as “well qualified” to serve as a Supreme Court Justice.

ABC News on Judge Barrett: “She’s very well regarded, well liked, I don’t think anyone’s going to be able to raise issues about her qualifications.”

CNN’s Abby Phillip: Judge Barrett “is widely viewed to be well qualified for this position.”

Even Democrat Senator Chris Coons, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was forced to admit that Barrett is qualified to serve as a Supreme Court Justice.

Fox News’ Shannon Bream: Judge Barrett “is eminently qualified.”

Harvard Law Professor and prominent Liberal Legal Scholar, Noah Feldman on Amy Coney Barrett: “Regardless of what you or I may think of the circumstances of this nomination, Barrett is highly qualified to serve on the Supreme Court.”

EVERYONE WHO KNOWS JUDGE BARRETT HAS NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR HER INTELLECT, CHARACTER AND LEGAL ACUMEN

CNN’s Abby Phillip: Judge Barrett’s colleagues are “coming forward to speak to her intellect.”

Notre Dame Law School Dean Marcus Cole called Judge Barrett “an absolutely brilliant legal scholar and jurist.”

Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins said that Judge Barrett “is a person of the utmost integrity who, as a jurist, acts first and foremost in accord with the law.”

Notre Dame Law Professor O. Carter Snead:  Judge Barrett “has an incandescent mind that has won the admiration of colleagues across the ideological spectrum.”

NBC News Legal Analyst  and former Acting Solicitor General under President Obama, Neal Katyal: Judge Barrett is “brilliant.”
