Senators Hassan and Shaheen, Support Pompeo, Not Partisanship

Ellie Hockenbury - April 11, 2018

As Mike Pompeo begins his Senate hearings and the confirmation process to become our next Secretary of State, the people of New Hampshire will be watching to see if Senators Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen choose to play partisan games with America’s top diplomatic position.

In January 2017, Hassan and Shaheen had no problem voting to confirm Pompeo as the Director of Central Intelligence, and should remain consistent when Pompeo’s nomination to Secretary of State comes to a vote.

Hassan and Shaheen should think twice before letting politics disrupt our national security and interests abroad. Will Senators Hassan and Shaheen remain consistent and support Pompeo’s nomination, or will they choose to play resistance politics at the expense of America’s national security?
