Today, President Trump reminded America that as our country begins to recover from coronavirus, American workers will be at the forefront.
- The Trump admin signed a major deal with a Virginia company to boost onshore manufacturing of medicine used to treat the coronavirus so we don’t have to rely on overseas drugs.
- President Trump also announced the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program to provide $19 billion to farmers, ranchers to “maintain the health” of the food supply chain.

This serves as a reminder that in America’s war against the coronavirus, President Trump has mobilized a whole of government response:
- “FEMA, HHS, and the private sector have shipped or are currently shipping 92.7 million N95 respirators, 133 million surgical masks, 10.5 million face shields, 42.4 million surgical gowns, and 989 million gloves.”
- “According to Admiral John Polowczyk, head of the supply-chain task force at FEMA, we manufactured roughly 30 million N95 respirators domestically a month before the COVID-19 crisis. He says we are on a path now to ramp up to 180 million N95 respirators a month.”
- And on the coronavirus testing front, in at least 12 states, there are testing surpluses where capacity “outstrips the supply of patients.”
