Border Security Experts, The Mexican Government, And Even Biden Administration Officials Say His Radical Policies Are To Blame
___________________________________________________________
THE BORDER CRISIS IS REAL
More than 100,000 migrants were apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the southwest border in February, a 173% increase over February 2020.
This is the largest number for February in 15 years.
Nearly 9,500 unaccompanied children were caught trying to cross the border illegally, the largest number in at least a decade.
There are currently 3,400 unaccompanied minors in CBP custody, a record number, and more than 8,500 unaccompanied children are being held by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The number of children held by CBP is well above the number in custody at the peak of 2019.
IMMIGRANTS, THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT, AND EVEN BIDEN’S ADMINISTRATION ADMIT THIS CRISIS IS A DIRECT RESULT OF BIDEN'S RHETORIC AND EXTREME POLICIES
Immigrants say Biden’s lax enforcement policies and rhetoric are drawing them to enter the U.S. illegally.
Biden’s reversal of effective border security policies “almost overnight” changed “migrant expectations along the border” and signaled to them a “return to more porous borders and pathways to legal status.”
One Honduran illegal immigrant said “My friends have told me that with the new president, it will be easier to enter the U.S.”
Border state Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) said the Biden administration's "messaging" encourages migrants to come to the U.S.
Mexican officials say Biden’s immigration policies are “stoking illegal immigration and creating business for organized crime.”
Internal Mexican government assessments say one of the reasons for increased illegal immigration is Biden’s “suspension of Trump-era accords that deported people to Central America.”
Mexican President :Andrés Manuel López Obrador: Migrants “see [Biden] as the migrant president, and so many feel they’re going to reach the United States.”
Biden’s immigration czar, Roberta Jacobson, conceded that Biden’s messages to migrants may have spurred the current surge at the border.
Jacobson even botched her message to illegal immigrants, saying in Spanish “La frontera no esta cerrada” – “the border is not closed.”
Last week, Biden’s DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas didn’t tell migrants not to come, merely to “wait.”
BIDEN ENDED EFFECTIVE BORDER POLICIES AND CAUSED THE CRISIS
The Biden Administration has stopped sending unaccompanied children back to Central and South America, a policy that Barack Obama endorsed in 2014.
The Biden Administration ended the successful “Remain in Mexico” policy, drawing an influx of immigrants.
Biden halted construction of the border wall on his first day in office, a decision that law enforcement officers say weakens border security and benefits Mexican cartels.
Biden has put restrictions on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), leading to ICE arrests plummeting in February by more than 60 percent even as illegal crossings skyrocket.
