The Silent Sinema Saga Continues…

Renae Eze - May 15, 2018

Today marks a week since President Donald Trump announced ending the United States’ participation in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran and re-imposing sanctions lifted under the deal, and we’re still waiting to hear from Kyrsten Sinema. But don’t hold your breath.

Touting her “independence” from the Democratic Party, Kyrsten Sinema was one of 25 House Democrats to vote against President Barack Obama’s Iran deal in 2015, saying "the risks ... outweigh the rewards." Yet, now that President Trump has fulfilled another campaign promise and withdrawn from the agreement, Kyrsten Sinema is noticeably absent from the conversation.

If she was concerned enough about “the risks” to vote against the deal and getting into bed with Iran, a leading state sponsor of terror, why haven’t we heard anything from Kyrsten Sinema?

“Typical. Kyrsten Sinema is trying to play both sides, all to win a few votes – and at the cost of the American people and our national security interests. By withdrawing from this flawed agreement, President Trump is delivering on yet another promise to the American people he pledged to fight for and protect. The only promise Kyrsten Sinema seems to deliver on is staying silent on issues important to Arizonans and their safety. But you can bet voters won’t be silent come November.” – RNC Spokesperson Renae Eze
