Today On Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski Abruptly Ended An Interview With Michael Wolff Over A Comment He Made Regarding U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley

During A Conversation With Michael Wolf About The Nikki Haley Assumption, Brzezinski Stated That Wolff Was "Slurring A Woman" And Called The Action "Disgraceful," And Wolff Denied He Had Made Any Insinuation. "After some back and forth, Brzezinski suggested to Wolff that he 'might be having a fun time playing a little game dancing around this, but you're slurring a woman. It's disgraceful.' Wolff once again insisted he had not made any insinuation about Haley, to which Brzezinski replied, 'Come on. Are you kidding? You're on the set of 'Morning Joe.' We don't BS here.'" • At That Point, Brzezinski Ended The Interview And Thanked Wolff For Appearing On Morning Joe. "Wolff then asked Brzezinski to read to him the remarks he had made in which he supposedly had accused Haley of having an affair with the president. The demand, which Brzezinski refused, was apparently the last straw. 'If you don't get it, if you don't get what we're talking about, I'm sorry. This is awkward. You're here on the set with us, but we're done,' she said. 'Michael Wolff, thank you. We're going to go to break now. Bye, everyone. We'll be right back.'" Morning Joe Has Played Into The Media Frenzy Over Wolff's Book By Hosting Him And Touting Coverage Of His Book On Their Morning Show On Numerous Occasions

On January 5, 2018, The Day Fire And Fury Was Released, Joe Scarborough Discussed The Book On His Show And Said It Contained "A New Explosive Set Of Revelations Coming Out Talking About The Dysfunction In The Trump White House." MSNBC'S JOE SCARBOROUGH: "I want to start, though, David Ignacious, with you. I didn't get a chance to speak with you yesterday about the revelations that came out in Michael Schmidt's back, revelations that of course so many people in Washington have been whispering about. In fact, some Michael Wolff ['s] book. I had somebody say last night. What's the big news about Wolff's new book? It's what everybody in Washington has been writing or saying the past year? They say well Wolff is more dramatic in his writing. Be that as it may, it caused a firestorm and I'm just wondering with North Korea and with Iran and with news out of Pakistan, it can be unsettling. What is your, what's your take on a new explosive set of revelations coming out talking about the dysfunction in the Trump White House when there is so much on the line across the globe this morning." THE WASHINGTON POST'S DAVID IGNATIUS: "Joe, I can give you a simple anecdote to explain what it's been like the past several days. On Thursday afternoon when the revelations of the Wolff book and Trump's amazing response to it came out, I was on my way to a major embassy to talk about precisely the problems you're mentioning what's happening in North Korea, what's happening in Iran. I found that the diplomat I had gone to see, hadn't been able to spend any time the whole afternoon looking at those big issues because he was pre occupied reading into the details of the wolff revelations. It was a sense as if there had been an implosion at center of this trump team, this governing trump team led by what we thought the insurgency that Bannon represented." (MSNBC's "Morning Joe," 1/5/18)

On January 8, 2018 Morning Joe Invited Michael Wolff On The Show To Talk About The Book Fire And Fury: Inside the Trump White House." MSNBC's MIKA BRZEZINSKI: "Wow. Joining us now, the author of 'Fire and Fury inside the Trump White House' Michael Wolff." (MSNBC's "Morning Joe," 1/8/18)

During That Segment, Scarborough Downplayed Concerns About Errors In Fire & Fury, Saying "Sometimes The Sources Get It A Little Off. " MSNBC's MIKA BRZEZINSKI: "So your kind of critics here will have some material to work with, there's some misspellings. I know for example, I'll just speak to the part scene where we are characterized in it and there's a scene Ivanka wanted to talk to Donald about women. He kept saying What? What? What? And then you say in the book that Ivanka shouted at him, and it was me, I said Donald, women, and I had to make an hourglass to show him women. That was the only way he could understand the word woman and so there's inaccuracies like that, that I guess do you worry that your critics?" MICHAEL WOLFF: "Which point? I'm not even sure which point was that?" BRZEZINSKI: "That was in, that was at the lunch at the White House." MSNBC's JOE SCARBOROUGH: "The bigger point is your critics run with these little specific things but getting a part of a story wrong here or getting something else --" WOLFF: "And sometimes you know you're dependent on your sources there and sometimes your sources -- now, I don't want to say who my source was in that particular thing, except that -- " SCARBOROUGH: "Sometimes the sources get it a little off." BRZEZINSKI: "Okay." SCARBOROUGH: "And by the way, it's -" BRZEZINSKI: "But the spirit of it is completely true." (MSNBC's "Morning Joe," 1/8/18)

Additionally During That Segment, Joe Scarborough Claimed Wolff's Book Reflected A "Bigger Picture Of What's Going On" In The White House And Trump Administration. MSNBC's JOE SCARBOROUGH: "Bob Woodward's been doing it for years where you talk to yea know 200 people that work in the white house or around a white house, and everybody is trying to spin Woodward and everybody is trying to spin the version of events, and you do get though a bigger picture of what's going on." MSNBC's MIKA BRZEZINSKI: "This is the trump I know." SCARBOROUGH: "And what is the bigger picture out of "fire and fury? What's the big idea?" MICHAEL WOLFF: "I think the big idea is that these people -- all white houses are fraught places, but they're a whole. People who work for presidents, support a president, they're on his side, they're on his team. They may not like the other people in the white house, but it's a relatively coherent view at the end of the day." (MSNBC's "Morning Joe," 1/8/18)

On January 22, 2018 Joe Scarborough Claimed That All Events That Had Happened In 2017 "Confirm[d] Everything That He [Wolff] Wrote In That Book And What Everybody Said." MSNBC'S JOE SCARBOROUGH: "Yeah, that's correct. It's interesting, though, as historians look back at this period -- and they're going to look at everything that's happened over the first year, they're going to look at the claims in Michael Wolff's book which is backed up by about a year of reporting. The same people that say that Wolff somehow is not a great reporter will then in the next breath say 'but everything he wrote we already knew anyway.'" MSNBC'S MIKA BRZEZINSKI: "Right." SCARBOROUGH: "There's no doubt -- everything that's been happening this past week confirms everything that he wrote in that book and what everybody said." (MSNBC's "Morning Joe," 1/22/18)
