Senator Donnelly told Hoosiers that he would make a decision on confirming Judge Kavanaugh “sometime after Kavanaugh’s committee confirmation hearing,” and since the hearings have concluded Donnelly continues to remain noncommittal. So, what’s the hold up?
Well, we’ve seen this play out before. As was the case with Neil Gorsuch, Mike Pompeo, or any other important vote on one of President Trump’s nominees, Senator Donnelly is going to run out the clock before making his final decision, just as Chuck Schumer is instructing Donnelly to do.
“Now that the Senate Judiciary committee hearings have concluded, Donnelly still refuses to tell Hoosiers where he stands on Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation. It is becoming more evident to Hoosiers that Senator Donnelly is merely awaiting the OK from Chuck Schumer to make a decision because Donnelly works for Schumer, not Hoosiers. If Donnelly was in the business of doing the right thing, he’d announce his support for Judge Kavanaugh immediately.” –RNC Spokesperson Michael Joyce
