What Obama and Biden knew and when they knew it...

Steve Guest - April 7, 2020

Flashback. In 2009, Obama/Biden’s HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testified before Congress about the United States’ mask supply and the obstacles the country would have if there was a pandemic.

Sebelius said:

  • “There are not adequate supplies to follow” the protocol of one new mask per patient seen.
  • “Mask stockpiles in the country and the manufacturing capacity would not allow us to follow that protocol.”

Sebelius’s comments then make it all the more curious why she came out of the woodwork to provide cover for Biden despite the Obama admin’s failures to resupply the federal stockpile.

REMINDER: Biden and Obama are the reason N95 masks were depleted from the national stockpile.

As USA Today notes, “There is no indication that the Obama administration took significant steps to replenish the supply of N95 masks in the Strategic National Stockpile after it was depleted.”

Joe Biden had 8 years to address something his admin admitted they were not prepared for and Obama/Biden’s former HHS secretary even admitted the manufacturing capacity wouldn't be there.

With those facts in place, that makes what President Trump has accomplished even more impressive: FEMA and HHS have distributed 11.7 million N95 respirators, 26.5 million surgical masks, 5.3 million face shields, 4.4 million surgical gowns, and 22.6 million gloves.

Furthermore it wasn’t just on masks and PPE where the Obama/Biden administration dropped the ball, Fox News reports “The Obama administration sought CDC cuts in five of its eight years.” (Reminder: Under President Trump, funding for the CDC has increased.)

Bottom Line: The inaction by the Obama/Biden admin fed into the situation we are in now. Thankfully, through the leadership of President Trump and the will of the American people, America will be victorious over this pandemic.
