Ketanji Brown Jackson claims she did not know Joe Biden filibustered Judge Janice Rodgers Brown
Janiyah - Thomas

“For all the talk of supporting Black women and promoting representation in the courts, it is telling Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson never took the time to learn about or even meet a fellow Black female jurist in her same Circuit, Janice Rogers Brown. Judge Brown was poised to become the first Black female Supreme Court nominee had it not been for Joe Biden and Democrats pledging to filibuster her nomination. While Judge Jackson may say she stands on the shoulders of Candace Baker Motley, she also stands on the shoulders of Janice Rogers Brown.”  - Paris Dennard, RNC National Spokesperson and Director of Black Media Affairs

When asked by Senator Lindsey Graham if she was aware of how President Biden actively filibustered Janice Rodgers Brown back in 2003, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson answered no.

Judge Janice Rogers Brown

  • Judge Jackson made no effort to learn about or get to know Black Conservative Judge Janice Rogers Brown who served in the same building as her.

After Biden has failed to deliver on numerous promises, Judge Jackson’s nomination is Biden’s attempt at rectifying his declining approval ratings with Black voters.

  • Biden has not delivered on critical issues important to the Black community such as curbing rising inflation and police reform.
    • Sociology Professor Robert L. Reece made a great point by saying “people need tangible things. Not just symbolic representation to get out and vote, especially in the midterms.”

Bottom Line: Black voters deserve more than “symbolic representation.” Black Americans want to see real results that will impact their daily lives in a positive manner.
