RNC Registers Voters At Gas Stations As Arizonans Feel The Toll Of Biden Gas Hike

The Republican National Committee (RNC) launched a nationwide initiative to register voters at gas stations this weekend, beginning in Arizona

As gas hits record high prices because of Joe Biden’s anti-American energy agenda, voters are feeling the pain at the pump. RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel joined Fox & Friends today to discuss the voter registration initiative.

The Republican National Committee on Saturday will hold three voter-registration drives near gas stations in Phoenix in hopes that rising fuel prices will steer financially pinched drivers to the GOP.

“Arizonans are frustrated with paying the record-high gas prices we’ve seen recently, this is an issue that affects almost every single Arizonan,” said Ben Petersen, the RNC's Arizona spokesperson. “There’s no doubt that everyone is feeling the pain at the pump, so a gas station right now may be the very best possible place for one of our volunteers to have a conversation with someone and get someone signed up to vote.”

Staff and volunteers from the Arizona Republican Party will help Arizona residents register to vote Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. outside three gas stations: 4343 E. Camelback Road; 4350 E. Indian School Road; and 4502 E. Oak St.

Recent voter registration statistics in Arizona indicate that 34.5% of registered voters are Republicans; 31.4% are Democrats; 33.3% are Independents; and 0.1% are Libertarians.

Petersen emphasized the importance of voter registration drives, saying that internal RNC data showed that more than 80% of newly registered Republican voters cast a ballot in the first election following their registration.

“Registering someone as a Republican voter is one of the most high-impact things we can do with our ground program,” Petersen said.
