Amid a 21-year high in border crossings, Joe Biden is hoping that cutting DHS funding will end his border crisis.

That’s not a joke.

Biden dropped a $6 trillion budget on the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day weekend, hoping the media wouldn’t notice. While Biden’s budget calls for trillions in new spending and double-digit increases for most federal departments, he effectively cuts funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

Biden doesn’t stop there. On top of cutting funding to DHS, Biden wants to cut funding for key border security initiatives.

But Biden’s budget doesn’t even tell the full story. After its release, the Biden DHS said it would cave to activists and cut funding for the 287(g) program, which partners ICE with state and local law enforcement to enforce immigration laws.  

By cutting border security, Biden is actively tying the hands of immigration enforcement officials.

Biden’s budget will make his border crisis even worse.
