Congress is back in session, which means Democrats are back to doing what the do best: deflecting, gaslighting, and caring more about illegal criminals than American citizens.
This morning, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the tragic consequences of Democrats' sanctuary city policies, highlighting the stories angel families whose loved ones were left permanently disabled by illegal aliens.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal looked these families directly in the eyes and suggested the hearing was a waste of time.
Marcus Coleman, whose daughter was nearly killed by an illegal alien, put the Democrats on blast:
"I reject your guys' sympathy…not one of you guys have ever called me...you guys want to talk about the pathway to citizenship..."
“My daughter doesn't deserve this...every day, something is happening to somebody, and it is your guys’ fault. I hold each and every one of you responsible for it, and I always will."
"You want to give them 'free' healthcare. You want to give them a driver's license. You guys want to give them the right to vote."
Maryland Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler noted the impact that sanctuary policies have on the law enforcement community:
“Every sheriff in America is forced to deal with the deadly fallout…these open border sanctuary state policies struck at the very heart of our community not once, but twice.”
And Colorado mother Patricia Fox, whose daughter was left severely disabled after a hit-and-run crash involving an illegal alien from Venezuela, pleaded with Democrats to stop protecting dangerous illegal criminals:
“The lives of American citizens should matter the most...the campaign ads are all the same...'Trump, Trump, Trump'...you need to love Americans more than you hate Trump."
