Democrat Sen. Elissa Slotkin just said the quiet part out loud: proof of citizenship and voter ID would make it "hard for any Democrat in any state to win any election."
That raises a simple question: if proving you're a U.S. citizen makes it harder for Democrats to win elections, why?
Across the country, Democrats keep telling on themselves:
- Sen. Elissa Slotkin claimed the SAVE America Act would make it "hard for any Democrat in any state to win any election" and accused supporters of trying to "rig our democracy."
- Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson blasted requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote, dismissing noncitizen voting as "very, very, very rare isolated incidents" and calling additional safeguards "onerous."
- James Talarico backed a voter outreach strategy targeting voters described as "likely to be removed or purged from the rolls."
- Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison admitted the Democrat strategy, pointing to voters who were not naturalized in the last election and vowing, "we're going to get them all this election."
- Sen. Chuck Schumer attacked the SAVE America Act as making it "harder to vote and easier to steal an election" because it requires proof of citizenship to register.
