“I don’t know why that’s so important to you.”

Commentary

As predicted, during last night’s first and only debate between Lee Zeldin and Kathy Hochul, Zeldin gave New Yorkers a stark alternative to Hochul’s failures.

The moment that will haunt Hochul every day from now to November 8th?

Zeldin said what everyone was thinking: “She still hasn’t talked about locking up anyone committing any crimes.”

Tone-deaf Hochul replied: “I don’t know why that’s so important to you.”

While it may not be important to Hochul, it’s important to Zeldin because it’s important to New Yorkers!

The issue of public safety stands above the rest for New York families as they are inundated with new, devastating stories of senseless violence thanks to Democrats’ criminals-first agenda.

It’s perfectly clear why Hochul refused to debate Zeldin more than once. She cannot defend her record, especially on issues top of mind for voters: crime, the economy, historic inflation, and energy costs.

Bottom Line: Lee Zeldin is surging in the polls and made a strong case why he is the only candidate with solutions to rebuild New York. On day one, Zeldin will be ready to tackle the devastation Hochul and Empire State Democrats have inflicted upon New York families.
