In case you missed it…the Republican National Committee (RNC) opened its second Asian Pacific American Community Center yesterday in Berkeley Lake. It’s another step of many the party has taken to meet people where they are, grow the base, and earn the vote of Republican voters wherever they may be.
The opening was kicked off in a packed room by RNC Co-Chairman Tommy Hicks and GAGOP Chairman David Shafer. It featured Asian Pacific American community leaders: former Johns Creek City Councilman Jay Lin, Sunny Park, and Shriv Aggarwal, who all spoke to the values that drew them to the Republican Party.
Outstanding grassroots leaders Sunny Wong and Thuy Hotle were presented with the Chairman’s Champion award by Co-Chairman Hicks. A video of RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel played during the ceremony congratulating Sunny and Thuy on their years of work organizing the Korean, Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese communities. Dozens of Chinese and Vietnamese community activists, who have played a pivotal role in supporting the GOP in Georgia, filled the new APA office.
Ritesh Desai, an Indian American community leader and dedicated Republican, led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. Reverend Bao Hanh Nguyen, a minister at Vietnamese Faith Grace Baptist Church, offered the benediction.
